Germany - Emden

The Hochschule is distinguished by application-based teaching and research as well as by a strong practical aspect. The aim of this practical orientation is flexibility, i.e. to apply the theoretical and methodological to knowledge-gained specific professional problems. This adaptability is systematically trained for in courses at the University of Applied Sciences (Fachhochschule). 4,300 students are enrolled at the university.
 

About Emden/Leer, Germany

Hochschule Emden has locations in the cities in the state of Lower Saxony, including the location in Emden and Leer. Emden was founded in the year 800 AD and has been one of Germany's major seaports throughout history. Students considering studying at the Hochschule in Emden should possess at least a basic knowledge of German, although some Business Administration courses are offered entirely in English for German and international students.

    Notes about the Language of Instruction
    At the Hochschule/Emden, regular courses are taught in German. Students have the opportunity to study Business in English. A limited number of classes in technical areas of study are also available in English including Maritime studies, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Technology/Natural Sciences, and Physics.

    Fall semester dates may not work with the semester at NDSU, so students are recommended to take part in this program during the spring semester.

  • Costs

    The cost for this NDSU exchange program is the same tuition and fees as the term at NDSU. You are responsible for the additional costs for the application and course fees, airfare, housing and other living expenses.
