With more than 26,000 students, Linkoping University is the 5th largest university in Sweden. The school ranks second in the country for enrollment in engineering and natural sciences. Within the university are four divisions which include the Institute of Technology, the Faculty of the Arts and Sciences, the Faculty of Health Sciences, and the Faculty for Educational Sciences.
The LiU campuses are situated in Linköping and Norrköping in East Sweden. The university is an important driving force for regional development. However, the mission is greater—Linköping University is a national and international player. World-class research is conducted within cuttingedge domains such as new materials, IT and disability research. Students come from all across the globe, with over 70 nationalities represented at LiU. Many LiU students study abroad for a semester or a year. The international perspective is essential when working to expand reality.
Notes about the Language of Instruction
Students studying abroad at LiU may enroll in courses taught in either English or Swedish. International students also have the opportunity to enroll in beginner or intensive Swedish language classes.
