Budgeting for Study Abroad

The type of program that you select can have a big effect on how the costs are set up, how payments are made, and what extra costs you should expect.

Below is a chart that outlines costs and payments for different program types. Click the name of the program type to learn more about what the program type label means and the experience you would have taking part.

*Full health and emergency evacuation insurance is required for all NDSU students. For some programs, this cost might be included in the program fees. If not, you are required to purchase coverage through NDSU.
**Board costs are not always included as a meal plan; in some cases students purchase food as needed. Financial aid can be applied to cover the cost of food for the term.
