Volunteer Abroad in India
From the immense snow-clad Himalayas to the buzzing metropolises of Delhi and Mumbai to the palm-lined beaches of Goa, India is a land of contrasts. With six major religions, dozens of major languages, and numerous racial and ethnic groups, it would seem that India is more like several distinct countries instead of the second most populous nation in the world. Its vastness defies easy categorization, but one thing is for sure: India is an experience like no other. Volunteers in India immerse themselves in the culture of this vibrant country, working side by side with local community members to help them build a stronger future for themselves and their country.
Live in Jaipur, India
Participants volunteering in India will live and work in Jaipur, Salcete, or Palampur.
Jaipur is located in India’s Rajasthan region. In the evenings and on weekends, volunteers are able to spend their time among numerous cultural, education, and entertainment activities. This might include watching local performances or Bollywood movies, shopping at street markets, learning traditional Indian dance, visiting museums, sampling local cuisine, or sipping homemade chai while relaxing with new friends.
Located in southern India, Goa is home to beautiful sandy beaches. Volunteers are able to explore rich Indian history as well as the Portuguese influence in Salcete. In the evenings and on weekends, volunteers have a vast array of activities at their disposal. South Goa has attracted many with its serene and peaceful disposition.
